Job summary

Inverarity Morton, Scotland’s leading independent wine and spirits wholesaler, is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance team in Glasgow. You will manage customer accounts, collect outstanding balances, and protect cash flow while maintaining positive customer relationships.

The role involves credit checks, payment processing, and collaborating with Sales and colleagues across the business. We value organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach to debt collection.

Qualifications

• Confident and professional in customer conversations, including overdue payments.
• Organised, numerate and accurate, with attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
• A supportive team player who builds effective working relationships.
• Comfortable using Excel, Outlook and business systems, and willing to learn new processes.
• Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable or finance administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively collect outstanding balances by telephone and email, with payment arrangements.
• Allocate payments accurately and process Direct Debit collections.
• Carry out credit checks and assist with new customer accounts.
• Monitor credit limits and terms, identify overdue balances and risks.
• Investigate and resolve account queries, liaising with customers and Sales.
• Provide administrative support to Credit Control and Finance teams.
