Job Description:

Portfolio Credit Control are currently partnered with an ever-growing, well-established Utilities business that is experiencing significant growth in its financial department. We are seeking a seasoned Credit Controller with a proven track record in reducing aged debt. This is an exciting opportunity with long-term prospects. Key Responsibilities

1. Handle all credit control activities across the portfolio.
2. Respond to customer inquiries via telephone.
3. Manage day-to-day credit control tasks such as correspondence, Direct Debit applications, disconnections, invoice copies, and debt recovery reminders.
4. Maintain relationships with operational teams to facilitate outcomes for non-paying clients.
5. Act as an escalation point for complex credit issues, including disconnections and multi-utilities accounts.
6. Contribute to the development of performance monitoring MI.
7. Improve current processes to enhance credit control services and internal procedures.
8. Manage sickness, absence, and holidays for the credit control team.
9. Performance management and training of junior credit controllers.
10. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Head of Collections and Customer Service.

About You

1. Strong understanding of credit control practices and flexible approaches to meet customer and business needs.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and mail merge facilities.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Knowledge of legal practices related to credit control, GDPR, financial hardship, and disconnection policies.
5. Understanding of utility services and contract terms.
6. Team-oriented with proactive relationship-building skills.
7. Adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
8. Leadership qualities to motivate and drive performance in a small team.
