Job summary

Academia is seeking a Credit Controller in a fast-paced, high-volume finance team. The role focuses on maintaining cash flow by chasing payments, monitoring ledgers and DSOs, and supporting credit decisions. You will liaise with internal teams and customers, ensuring timely payments and accurate accounting.

The ideal candidate has sharp numeracy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the wider Finance function.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced credit control environment.
• Strong numerical and data interpretation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Daily chasing on assigned ledger to ensure timely payments.
• Monitor debtor balances and DSOs within defined targets.
• Process new account applications and conduct credit checks.
• Allocate credit limits as required and reconcile accounts.
• Post cash daily and send weekly reminders and statements.
• Resolve queries promptly and handle payment conversations diplomatically.
• Provide admin support within Credit Control and finance team.
