Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking an experienced Credit Controller based in Newport to join the finance team. The role focuses on managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and maintaining cash flow.

You will build strong relationships with customers and work proactively to collect overdue invoices. The ideal candidate has prior Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable experience, excellent communication skills, and a professional approach to debt collection.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable position.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive and professional approach to debt collection.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and ensuring timely collection of invoices.
• Contacting customers via telephone and email to recover overdue payments.
• Resolving invoice and payment queries by liaising with internal departments.
• Reconciling customer accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Negotiating payment arrangements where appropriate.
• Allocating incoming payments accurately.
• Monitoring aged debt and producing regular reports.
• Maintaining accurate customer records and credit control procedures.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties.
