Job summary

CarFinance 247 in Manchester is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to take ownership of a mixed portfolio of B2B and B2C receivables. You will recover outstanding balances, contact dealers, customers and lenders, and drive improvements in collection processes.

The role requires proactive problem solving, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work with internal teams to resolve issues and minimise bad debt. Prior automotive finance exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control, collections or AR roles.
• Strong telephone and written communication abilities.
• Proven negotiation and influencing skills for difficult conversations.
• Experience with Excel including advanced functions.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a portfolio of B2B and B2C receivables.
• Contact dealers, customers and lenders to secure payment.
• Oversee end-to-end collections process, from reminders to escalation.
• Investigate disputes and discrepancies promptly and accurately.
• Negotiate payment arrangements in line with policy.
• Produce reports on portfolio performance and recovery activity.
