Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Credit Control Assistant in Wolverhampton to join the Finance team on a temporary basis. The role involves debt chasing, record maintenance, and building strong customer relationships to improve cash flow.

You will support data entry tasks, cover cashier duties, and assist with Information Hub operations as needed. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent telephone communication and accurate record-keeping.
• Experience with debt recovery procedures is a plus.
• Strong data-entry skills and computer literacy.
• Understanding GDPR and Health & Safety regulations.
• Solid knowledge of Credit Control and Accounts Payable; Agresso experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Chase debts via telephone to secure timely payments.
• Maintain up-to-date records and diary notes according to procedures.
• Build productive relationships to improve cash flow.
• Monitor accounts and liaise with Accounts Receivable Manager for actions.
• Provide data entry support during staff absences.

What You’ll Do:

As a Credit Control Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing debt for our client, dealing with a variety of customers including commercial companies, local authorities, NHS Trusts, and more. Your responsibilities will include:

• Debt Chasing: Engage with customers through regular telephone contact to ensure timely payments.
• Record Maintenance: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts, in line with established procedures.
• Customer Rapport: Build productive relationships with customers to enhance cash flow for the organisation.
• Account Monitoring: Identify any customers who are struggling to pay and collaborate with the Accounts Receivable Manager for further action.
• Data Entry Support: Assist with data entry tasks during staff absences or holidays, ensuring smooth operations.
• Cashier Duties: Step in to cover cashier responsibilities as needed.
• Information Hub Operations: Help run the Information Hub efficiently.
