Job summary

DJH is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will work closely with the Head of Credit Control to manage a portfolio, chase outstanding debts, and maintain precise payment records, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and timely collections.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, bringing proactive problem-solving and excellent communication to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in credit control within practice or industry.
  • Tech-savvy with Xero and Excel; knowledge of CCH is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Take a proactive, can-do approach to collecting outstanding debts and work toward targets.
  • Build rapport while chasing overdue payments via phone, email, and letters.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of payment activity and promises.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Credit Control for support and solutions.
  • Nurture strong relationships with clients through clear communication and excellent service.
  • Take ownership of your own portfolio of offices and manage them efficiently.

As a Credit Controller you’ll be fully immersed with our experienced Credit Control team and working successfully with our Head of Credit Control to achieve great things together. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative and rewarding.

  • Take a proactive, can-do approach to collecting outstanding debts, confidently working towards agreed collection targets
  • Build rapport while chasing overdue payments through friendly and professional phone calls, emails, and letters
  • Keep everything running smoothly by maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of payment activity and promises
  • Tackle any challenges head-on, working closely with the Head of Credit Control for support and solutions
  • Nurture strong, positive relationships with clients through clear communication and great service
  • Take ownership of your own portfolio of offices, managing them efficiently
