Job summary

Journey Recruitment Ltd in Bracknell is seeking a Credit Controller to join our finance team. You will manage sales ledger processes, chase outstanding debts, and ensure accurate reconciliation of customer accounts.

The role offers a 35-hour week with a hybrid working option (2 days from home) after probation, and a salary up to £28,000 plus benefits including 25 days holiday.

Responsibilities

• Process and post customer payments and bank receipts.
• Update cashbooks and review foreign bank accounts.
• Chase outstanding debts and resolve queries, initiating proceedings where needed.
• Reconcile customer accounts and National Accounts; raise discrepancies.
• Produce regular invoices and upload to customer portals.
• Generate month-end reports for the Finance Controller.
• Manage credit balances, debit notes and back orders; update exchange rates.
• Support annual audits and assist finance team members.

This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career and take responsibility for managing the Sales Ledger, collecting outstanding debts, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of customer accounts.

You will play a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting the wider finance function.

The salary is up to £28,000 plus a great range of benefits including 25 days holiday. You will work a 35-hour week with the option of a flexible start time.

There will be the option for hybrid working (2 days a week from home) after successful completion of the probation period.

Key Responsibilities for the Credit Controller role in Bracknell are:

• Processing and posting customer payments including bank receipts, Worldpay and EPDQ transactions
• Updating cashbooks and reviewing foreign bank accounts for incoming funds
• Chasing outstanding debt, resolving queries, and initiating proceedings where required
• Reconciling key customer and National Accounts, raising discrepancies with internal teams
• Producing regular reports and invoices including uploading to customer portals
• Preparing consolidated reports, customer statements, and month-end information for the Finance Controller
• Managing credit balances, debit notes, back orders, and exchange rate updates
• Supporting annual audit activity and assisting other finance team members as needed
