Job summary

Safetykleen is seeking a Credit Control Manager to lead the Billing and Credit Control team across the UK and Ireland. This hands-on role focuses on strong collections activity, resolving customer account issues, and keeping credit control moving with pace and professionalism.

You will guide a medium-sized team, drive performance against targets, and ensure consistent customer conversations while maintaining fairness and commercial sense.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control, collections or debt management.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or leading others.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to handle escalated conversations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good judgement with customer disputes and sensitive accounts.

Responsibilities

• Support, guide and motivate the Credit Control team in day-to-day activity.
• Help the team deliver against collection targets, KPIs and service levels.
• Provide coaching, feedback and practical support to team members.
• Manage aged debt, reduce risk and minimise write-offs.
• Assist reviews of customer accounts for potential action or escalation.
• Handle escalated customer queries professionally and constructively.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and clearly.
• Ensure systems reflect current activity and generate accurate reports.
