Job summary

Confidential in Wrexham is seeking a part-time Credit Controller to join the finance team on a 12-month contract. You will manage customer accounts, chase payments, and maintain accurate ledgers while working in a supportive team environment with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

Credit Controller (Part-Time)

Wrexham Hybrid Working 20 Hours Per Week 12-Month Contract

We're working with a growing and successful business based in Wrexham that is looking to add a Debtors Clerk to its finance team on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, keeping accounts on track, and playing a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow. You'll be joining a supportive team where your contribution will make a real difference to the business.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you'll be responsible for managing customer accounts, recovering outstanding payments, and ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing customer accounts and monitoring outstanding balances
• Issuing invoices, statements and payment reminders
• Following up on overdue accounts and maintaining accurate collection records
• Reconciling customer accounts and resolving payment queries
• Processing and allocating incoming payments
• Producing aged debt reports and supporting cash flow activities
• Building positive relationships with customers while ensuring payments are received on time
• Managing customer credit limits
• Processing credit notes and account adjustments
• Handling prepayments and releasing orders where required
• Completing online payment reconciliations

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within credit control, debt recovery, or accounts receivable
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills
• Good problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to resolving issues
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and pivot tables
• Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage your workload independently and prioritise effectively

Desirable Experience

• At least 12 months' experience in a similar role
• Experience using ERP or finance systems
• A good understanding of the full debtor management process

Working Hours

20 hours per week across 5 days, worked flexibly:

• Monday to Thursday between 9:00am and 5:00pm
• Friday between 8:00am and 4:00pm

Contract

• Initial 12-month contract
• Potential for extension or a permanent opportunity
