Job summary

Milk Education is looking for enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Sunderland and South Tyneside. Roles include part-time and full-time placements throughout the academic year.

You will work in welcoming primary schools, helping classrooms, small groups or 1:1 with pupils, and supporting those with additional learning needs. DBS checks and FastTrack onboarding are provided, with opportunities for long-term or permanent roles and access to

Qualifications

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification (or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Experience working with children in nursery, childcare or primary school settings
  • Ability to support learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Proactive, reliable and adaptable approach to flexible working arrangements

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
  • Work with pupils 1:1 or in small groups to support learning
  • Help children with additional learning needs where required
  • Assist with classroom routines and behaviour management
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence

Creative Teaching Assistant Role

You will work within primary schools, supporting children across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, helping to create positive learning environments where pupils can thrive and succeed.

Responsibilities of a Primary School Teaching Assistant may include:
  • Supporting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
  • Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis with pupils
  • Supporting children with additional learning needs where required
  • Assisting with classroom routines and behaviour management
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence and independence
  • Supporting children's social, emotional and educational development
  • Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For in a Creative Teaching Assistant:
  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification (or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Experience working with children in a nursery, childcare or primary school setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's education and development
  • A reliable, adaptable and proactive approach
