Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a creative Drama Teacher for a Cambridge secondary school to cover a maternity leave. You will deliver practical and written lessons, support performance development and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere within the department.

Teach Drama across KS3–KS4, plan practical activities, support GCSE assessments, manage rehearsals and resources, and track progress with constructive feedback while promoting creativity and collaboration among pupils.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical Drama.
• Can manage practical lessons safely and effectively.
• Encourages creativity, teamwork and confident participation.
• Can take up the maternity-cover position from January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach Drama across KS3–KS4.
• Plan practical activities covering devising, performance and evaluation.
• Support GCSE students with practical assessments and written preparation.
• Manage rehearsal activities and classroom resources effectively.
• Track progress and provide feedback on performance skills.
