Job summary

The High School Leckhampton invites applications for a Drama teacher from January 2027 to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will join a welcoming, high‑achieving staff and will prepare our Drama students for GCSE using the AQA syllabus.

You will teach KS3 and KS4, lead enrichment activities, manage resources and contribute to events such as school productions and theatre visits, while upholding safeguarding and equity.

Qualifications

• Outstanding knowledge and understanding of Drama
• Excellent classroom practice in teaching AQA Drama at GCSE
• Ability to teach English to KS3 and GCSE
• Highest standards of professional conduct
• Ability to establish and lead a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Responsibilities

• Teach Drama at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE groups
• Ensure Drama curriculum aligns with school ethos and progress goals
• Deliver engaging, challenging Drama learning with differentiation
• Provide feedback to parents and report progress
• Stay updated on pedagogy and assessment practices in Drama
• Manage resources and ensure Health & Safety compliance
• Organise extra-curricular Drama activities and theatre visits
• Support school productions and contribute to public engagement
