About SOMA And Fatsoma

SOMA is an event growth company helping event organisers, venues and artists around the world sell more tickets, build their audiences and grow more valuable businesses.

Fatsoma, our event growth and ticketing platform, sits within a broader ecosystem of products and services from SOMA. Alongside our technology, we provide managed marketing, education and bespoke platforms for ambitious event businesses.

The Role

We're building a Brand Studio — that sits at the heart of both businesses — responsible for telling great stories about our products, our customers and our company.

Those stories can take many forms: a beautifully-produced customer film, a product walkthrough, an interview, a long-form article, a motion-led launch film, a behind-the-scenes story, a social series, a short-form ad or a newsletter.

We're looking for a Creative Content Producer to help us turn those ideas into things people can actually see, read and watch. This is a hands-on role combining creative production, video production and content publishing.

You’ll own the journey from an initial story or idea through planning, production and delivery: creating schedules, organising shoots, directing people on camera, coordinating designers and motion designers, contributing to copy and storyboards, working with freelancers where needed, filming and editing content yourself, and making sure the finished work gets published across the right channels.

You’ll also play a big part in shaping how the Brand Studio operates. This is a new function, so we’re not looking for someone to simply step into an established production process. You’ll help us build it: developing how we plan and prioritise work, how we run shoots, what we bring in-house, how we work with external partners, and how we turn great ideas into a consistent rhythm of high-quality output.

Most importantly, you’ll bring momentum and structure. When we decide a story is worth telling, you’ll help make sure it actually gets made, and made really well.

What You’ll Do

Own our content production pipeline

  • Gather and turn story ideas and ad briefs into a clear and achievable production schedule.
  • Own the Brand Studio content calendar: help prioritise and keep projects (video, written and web) moving from idea through production, review and publication.
  • Break projects into practical requirements: people, locations, scripts, storyboards, design, motion, equipment, freelancers and timelines.
  • Coordinate contributors and teams across the business.
  • Organise client interviews, product shoots, studio bookings and on-location case studies.
  • Manage and coordinate external production partners when we need additional support.
  • Keep stakeholders informed and make sure approvals and feedback happen at the right time.
  • Help build the production systems, processes and ways of working that will shape how the Brand Studio operates as it grows.

Create, Film And Edit

  • You’ll also be one of the people actually making the work.
  • You’ll personally shoot and edit much of our day-to-day video content, while producing and coordinating specialist external teams for more ambitious productions.
  • Plan, shoot and edit high-quality brand and product video.
  • Help draft and refine scripts and content writing.
  • Work confidently with cameras, lighting and audio.
  • Direct people on camera.
  • Partner with our creative team on visual design and storyboarding.
  • Help us build our video-production capability in-house while knowing when a project still warrants specialist external production.

Run Our Social Publishing And Newsletter

  • Manage the day-to-day publishing of Brand Studio content across our social channels and newsletter, and coordinate its publication across our sales sites.
  • Maintain a clear publishing calendar across channels.
  • Identify opportunities to turn larger stories into multiple useful pieces of social content.
  • Understand what works across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and emerging channels relevant to our audience.
  • Monitor performance and use what we learn to improve future content.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone with an eye for creative, a passion for great storytelling, and a strong editorial instinct.

We're particularly interested in someone who's spent time in an in-house content team, creative studio, agency, production company or media environment and enjoys working across disciplines.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Strong experience producing creative or branded content from initial brief through to final delivery.
  • A portfolio showing high-quality video you've personally filmed and edited.
  • Confidence with cameras, lighting, sound and the practical realities of running a shoot.
  • Excellent organisation and production-management skills.
  • Experience coordinating several pieces of content at different stages of production.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms and experience managing or publishing branded social content.
  • Good copywriting and editing skills.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders, customers, freelancers and creative specialists.
  • The ability to bring order to ambiguous ideas and move things forward without needing constant direction.
  • High standards for craft and an eye for what makes branded content feel considered rather than generic.

Details & Benefits

  • Salary: £40k – £50k DOE
  • The role is full-time, permanent, 40 hrs per week Monday–Friday
  • This is a hybrid role; you’ll be in the office or in studios and locations around Manchester 1-2 days per week on average, with an expectation to this increasing, depending on shooting schedules. Ultimately this is an in-person role — you’ll be collaborating with, and filming, your co-workers.
  • Occasional travel to client events across the country.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 30 days holiday (+ bank holidays).
  • Company pension.
  • Profit share bonus.
  • £250 annual learning budget.
  • Equipment budget.
  • Monthly gym membership subsidy.
  • Mental Health Programme (Thrive).
  • Quarterly in-person team socials in Manchester (travel and hotel are paid for).

Our Values

  • Passion and persistence — We’re focused, committed and excited by our direction and goals.
  • Create something meaningful — We’re proud of the impact we make.
  • Always learning — We constantly learn and improve as a result of our experiences.
  • Helping others — We grow the team by helping others.
  • Open & honest — We build trust through open and honest relationships.
  • Balance — We look after ourselves so we can give our best.
  • Positivity — We take the positives from any situation.
