Serco Group is seeking a Cover Tutor at HMP Fosse Way in Leicester to support learners across vocational subjects and maintain continuity when colleagues are unavailable. You will help learners develop practical skills, keep detailed records, and ensure standards are met.
All applicants should have Level 2 Maths and English, with teaching experience preferred. The role includes DBS checks and progression support during probation.

Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 depending on experience
Schedule: 40 hours per week, permanent
As a Cover Tutor in our HMP Fosse Way team, you’ll support learners across a range of vocational subjects, helping them build skills that create real opportunities for their futures. You’ll step in where needed to maintain consistent, high-quality learning, ensuring every learner feels supported to grow and stay on track with their ambitions.
This role plays an important part in helping people develop confidence, gain meaningful qualifications, and prepare for a better future beyond custody. Your work will make a positive impact on individuals, their families, and wider communities.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
