Job summary

Serco Limited is hiring a Warehouse/ Logistics/ Manufacturing Tutor at HMP Dovegate, Staffordshire. Salary £33,738 - £37,652, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 08:15-17:00. You will deliver hands-on, work-focused learning to help custody learners gain skills and qualifications for employment.

Role involves designing learning plans, assessments, and safeguarding compliance, while providing pastoral support and collaboration with managers to deliver a cohesive learner experience. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Warehouse/ Logistics/ Manufacturing skills or work based learning in education, training or industry.
• Level 3 teaching and Level 3 assessor qualifications.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with diverse learners.
• Commitment to high quality teaching and inclusive learning practice.
• Ability to work in a structured environment with safeguarding and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, practical learning across vocational disciplines, embedding employability and British Values.
• Create and maintain Individual Learning Plans and track learner progress.
• Design schemes of work, lesson plans and programmes for a changing learner population.
• Contribute to curriculum development and ensure learning materials are current.
• Administer assessments, marking and accreditation processes.
• Provide pastoral support as a Personal Tutor to build confidence and resilience.
• Maintain safe, inclusive learning environments with safeguarding protocols.
• Keep accurate learner records and support quality assurance.
• Collaborate with education managers and colleagues to deliver a cohesive learner experience.
• Promote vocational programmes and engage with partners to raise opportunities.

Your role will help learners develop industry relevant skills and secure recognised qualifications, building their readiness for work and strengthening their long-term prospects. What you’ll do as a Warehouse/ Logistics/ Manufacturing Tutor

You’ll be entrusted to:

• Deliver engaging, practical learning across vocational disciplines, embedding employability, functional skills, and British Values throughout.
• Create and maintain Individual Learning Plans and closely track learner progress and achievement.
• Design schemes of work, lesson plans and rollon, rolloff programmes that respond to a changing learner population.
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring learning materials and resources remain current and effective.
• Administer assessments, marking and accreditation processes in line with awarding requirements.
• Provide pastoral support as a Personal Tutor, helping learners build confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
• Maintain safe, inclusive and motivating learning environments that follow all security and safeguarding protocols.
• Keep accurate learner records, registers and documentation to support compliance and quality assurance.
• Work collaboratively with education managers, vocational supervisors and colleagues to deliver a cohesive and supportive learner experience.
• Promote vocational programmes and engage with internal and external partners to raise awareness and opportunity.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

• Experience delivering Warehouse/ Logistics/ Manufacturing skills or work based learning within education, training or industry settings.
• A minimum Level 3 teaching qualification and Level 3 assessor qualification.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and support diverse learners.
• A commitment to high quality teaching, continuous improvement, and inclusive learning practice.
• Confidence working in a structured environment with clear safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Vetting and checks

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
