Aspire People is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Torfaen. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive classroom environment and manage behaviour to keep students engaged. Roles vary from day-to-day supply to longer placements, with safeguarding at the forefront.

Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools Across Torfaen

We are recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools throughout the area. One day you could be supporting students in a large secondary school in Cwmbran, the next day working in a school in Pontypool or Blaenavon. Supply work offers the chance to build your experience across a variety of settings, develop your classroom management skills and discover the schools that suit you best.

For those seeking greater consistency, we also work with schools offering long-term placements where you can become an established member of staff and make a lasting impact.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absences
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
• Manage behaviour effectively and confidently
• Support students to remain engaged and focused throughout lessons
• Adapt quickly to different school environments
• Follow all safeguarding and school policies

What We're Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Experience working with young people in schools, colleges, coaching, youth work, training or similar settings
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading groups
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, resilient and professional approach
• The ability to build positive relationships quickly
• Experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), behavioural needs or challenging behaviours is highly desirable.
