Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support schools across Monmouthshire. The role is part-time and temporary with hours 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., focusing on supervising pupils and delivering pre-planned lessons to create a safe learning environment.

You should have at least 3 months of experience with children or in care, a genuine interest in helping young people, and be flexible to work across secondary schools. A proactive, patient, and team-oriented attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience (paid or voluntary) working with children, young people, or within the care/coaching sector.
• Genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their development.
• Openness to training and ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Proactive work ethic alongside a patient, encouraging, and understanding attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a school support team.
• Flexibility to work across secondary schools in the Monmouthshire area.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and managing classroom behaviour for pupils in secondary schools across Monmouthshire.
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and supporting pupils with classroom activities.
• Ensuring the safety, well-being, and welfare of students during lessons.
• Assisting with the implementation of educational programmes and supporting pupils with ALN/SEN.
• Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment conducive to learning.
• Adapting quickly to different school environments and supporting various age groups across Key Stages 3 and 4.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise pupils across Key Stage 3 and 4 classes, helping to create a safe, structured, and engaging environment. You will support teachers by delivering pre-planned lessons and assisting students with their learning, all while fostering a positive atmosphere conducive to educational success.
