Job summary

Tradewind Education is recruiting enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join our team and work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Rotherham and the surrounding areas for the 2026/27 academic year.

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and support students’ learning in the absence of the regular teacher. Roles include day-to-day supply, short-term placements, and long-term assignments with flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people
• Confident communicating with secondary-age students
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively
• Adaptable, organised, and reliable
• Hold or willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
• Keep students engaged, focused and on task
• Maintain a positive learning environment
• Support teachers and school staff as needed

What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You'll ensure students stay engaged, focused, and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

No teaching qualification? No problem! If you have experience working with young people and strong classroom management skills, we'd love to hear from you.

We're Looking For People Who:

Have experience working with children or young people (school-based experience is desirable but not essential)

Are confident communicating with secondary-age students

Can manage classroom behaviour effectively

Are adaptable, organised, and reliable

Have a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved

Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
