Job summary

Charles Darwin Primary School and Nursery in Norwich is seeking a Cover Supervisor to provide class supervision during short-term teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and safeguarding.

The role is 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, starting October 2026, based at Charles Darwin Primary. You will support curriculum delivery, planning and resource development while maintaining high standards of behaviour.

Qualifications

• Very good numeracy/literacy skills with GCSE C or NVQ 3 in Maths and English
• Proficient use of technology and understanding of its use in teaching
• Experience of teaching or other learning environments covering groups or whole classes
• Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with pupils, parents/carers and staff
• Basic experience of assessing student progress and contributing to the assessment process
• Knowledge of the needs of SEN students in academic surroundings

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality supervision of classes to cover short-term absence of the regular teacher
• Provide high quality general curriculum support including planning and administration
• Procure and develop curriculum and enrichment resources
• Implement the academy's safeguarding policy and promote welfare of young people
