Job summary

Avanti House Secondary School is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support learning when teachers are absent. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared work, and maintain high standards of behaviour, creating a calm, supportive learning environment that helps pupils progress.

The role also involves contributing to school life through activities such as pupil supervision, examination invigilation and administrative duties, using Arbor MIS for planning and providing inclusive support.

Qualifications

• Educated to at least Level 2 GCSE in English and Maths.
• Good ICT/technology skills and proficient with school systems.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to work creatively both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons for absent teachers using Arbor MIS with prepared work and resources.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and health and safety.
• Provide wider school support when not covering lessons, including supervision, supporting individuals or groups, invigilation, library duties and administrative tasks.
• Adhere to school policies and contribute to the Climate for Learning through collaboration and training.
