Job summary

The Parker Academy, part of E-ACT, is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support learning when a teacher is absent. You will supervise pre-set work, promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, safe and purposeful classroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision or equivalent.
  • HLTA or equivalent (desirable).
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4.
  • Experience supervising children in a school setting.
  • Experience working with children with a wide variety of educational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pre-set work and ensure learning continues in absence of a teacher.
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and purposeful learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and engagement.
  • Use ICT to support learning activities.

We are looking for a reliable, confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team at The Parker Academy.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our students continue to learn, thrive and achieve when their teacher is absent. You’ll supervise engaging pre-set work, inspire positive behaviour and create a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Key responsibilities:
  • Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations
  • Supervising pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy’s policy, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of students’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement and providing feedback/reports as required
  • Encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning activities and develop students’ competence and independent use.
Pay range:

SCP NJC 17-21: £16,370.75 - £17,490.03 (FTE: £31,022.00 - £33,143)

  • Term Time only(39 weeks)
  • 22.2 hours per week (0.6)
  • Fixed term until 31/08/2027
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision or equivalent
  • HLTA or equivalent (desirable)
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience supervising children in a school setting
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
