Job summary

All Saints' Catholic Voluntary Academy in Mansfield is seeking a cover supervisor to ensure high-quality learning when a teacher is away. You will manage behaviour, lead pre-set activities, and support students across KS3/KS4 with occasional KS5 involvement.

The role is permanent, starting 1 September 2026, 32.5 hours per week, term-time only, with a focus on fostering relationships and ensuring excellent results for our students.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising KS3/KS4 students in a learning environment.

  • Confident speaking to large groups and fostering positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in KS3, KS4 and occasional KS5 in the absence of a teacher.
  • Deliver or supervise pre-set learning activities designed by teaching staff.
  • Foster well-being and provide guidance to support student progress.
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrate resilience, professionalism and time management in a busy school setting.

Job description

As a cover supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring that students have a high-quality learning experience when their usual teacher is away from school.

You will manage classroom behaviour to ensure pupils stay on task and facilitate the activities that have been designed by teaching staff to ensure that students complete the work in an effective learning environment.

This role offers you the chance to step in and lead lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, primarily for KS3 and KS4 students, with occasional work at KS5. You’ll also have the opportunity to make a broader contribution across the Academy.

This is a permanent role starting from 1 September 2026, working for 32.5 hours per week, term time only.
