Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a specialist SEN setting in Bristol. You will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following lesson plans and ensuring pupils stay engaged and supported throughout the day.

The role suits someone confident with pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD and other needs, able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries. You will work with Teaching Assistants to adapt approaches per pupil needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs.
• Maintain a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and provide appropriate support.
• Work alongside Teaching Assistants and wider school staff.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs where required.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour.
