Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated Cover Supervisor for a specialist SEN setting in Bristol, to supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher and follow pre-prepared lesson plans. You will support pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD and other needs, maintain a calm, structured environment, and work with Teaching Assistants and school staff to help pupils progress.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with children or young people.
Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them progress.

Responsibilities

Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.
Support pupils with a range of SEN and additional learning needs.
Maintain a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
Build positive relationships with pupils and provide appropriate support.
Work alongside Teaching Assistants and wider school staff.
Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs where required.
Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour.
