Five Education are seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to support SEMH pupils at a secondary school. You will oversee lessons in the absence of the class teacher, with small classes of 8-10 and a supportive team.

The role focuses on safeguarding and behavioural management with emphasis on pupils' wellbeing and engagement. You’ll contribute to a calm, structured learning environment while adhering to school policies and safeguarding requirements.

Cover Supervisor - SEMH Secondary School

£120-£130 per day | Full-Time | Immediate Start Five Education

Five Education are looking for a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school supporting secondary-aged pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of students who require additional support to reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day. You will be working with small classes of around 8-10 students, supported by an experienced and dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).

You will help create a calm, positive, and structured learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and able to succeed.

• Have experience working with secondary-aged children or young people

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Are passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
• Have experience in education, youth work, coaching, support work, care, or similar settings (desirable)

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS. There will also be an interview.

Essential Criteria

• Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30
• Right to work in the UK - we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
• Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
• Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one*

*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
