Job summary

Great Park Academy is seeking a proactive supervisor to cover classes in the absence of the class teacher. You will support a range of subjects and work with the Pastoral Team to implement programmes and manage behaviour across the school.

You will deliver engaging activities to pupils in various settings, provide feedback, and uphold national curricula expectations while promoting inclusive practices within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and to establish positive relationships with pupils.
  • Clear understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Excellent ICT skills and ability to use them to support learning.
  • Ability to respond positively to unexpected problems and situations.
  • A working knowledge of national/foundation stage curricula and learning programmes.
  • A relentless drive to secure the best outcomes for students of all abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support a variety of subjects across the school site.

Job description

The successful candidate will be required to supervise classes during the absence of the class teacher. They will support a variety of subjects across the school site. This will include supporting the work of the Pastoral Team, implementing work programmes, managing student behaviour and assisting students in relevant activities in line with the school’s and Multi Academy Trust’s policies and procedures. They will deliver learning activities to pupils in a range of classroom settings, including working with individuals, small groups and whole classes, providing feedback to pupils and colleagues on learning and behaviour. They will be aware of national frameworks, typical curricula and teaching methods and expectations in the relevant key stages and they will use behaviour management strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment. They will communicate effectively and sensitively with pupils to support their learning, promoting inclusion and acceptance of all pupils in the classroom.
