Job summary

The Morley Academy invites applications for a Cover Supervisor to supervise and support students in the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will need to communicate clearly, engage young learners, and help maintain high behaviour standards while contributing to the wider life of the Academy.

We seek a calm, adaptable professional with GCSEs and experience with young people. The role offers a chance to develop within The GORSE Academies Trust and the Leeds education community.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with young people and a passion for supporting their success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage a classroom effectively and adapt to different situations.
  • A calm, flexible and professional approach, with the enthusiasm to contribute to the wider life of the Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom supervision in the short-term absence of teaching staff.
  • Support students' learning and development by maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Engage, motivate and guide young people to uphold high behaviour standards.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the Academy and school community.

The Morley Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational and committed colleague for the role of Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for education to support students' learning and development by providing classroom supervision in the short-term absence of teaching staff. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the confidence to engage and motivate young people, maintain high standards of behaviour, and contribute positively to the wider life of the Academy.

Potential applicants should have:
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with young people and a passion for supporting their success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage a classroom effectively and adapt to different situations.
