Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Corby is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to maintain high standards of learning in the absence of the class teacher. You will deliver engaging lessons, manage behavior, and support pupils aged 11-18 across several subjects.

The role requires safeguarding knowledge, adaptability across year groups, and a commitment to inclusive education. The successful candidate will join a supportive school network with a clear start date and regular school hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Safeguarding knowledge and keeping children safe in education.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working with different year groups and schools in Northamptonshire area.
  • Ability to assess, monitor and provide feedback to support pupil achievement.
  • Willingness to attend staff meetings, training, parents' evenings and school events.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering high quality lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and policies.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs of pupils, including SEND and EAL needs.
  • Assess and monitor pupil engagement and progress during lessons.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents while representing the school professionally.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
  • Support school activities and contribute positively to the wider school community when required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by teaching across different year groups and subjects as needed.

Cover supervisor- Full time

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Start Date: 14th September
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Full time

We are currently looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic Cover supervisor with experience delivering high-quality teaching, available in the Corby and greater Northamptonshire area. A successful candidate will be skilled in maintaining effective classroom management, delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. This job would be best suited to someone committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As aCover supervisor, you will be responsible for:

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an educator who:

  • Has a clear understanding of Safeguarding and keeping children safe in education.
  • Is adaptable and comfortable working with different year groups, in different schools across the Northamptonshire area.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing regular feedback to support achievement.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including those with SEND and EAL needs.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, parents' evenings, and other school events as required.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to providing high-quality learning experiences.
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with children aged 11-18
Working Hours

Weekdays 8:30am - 3:30pm
