Job summary

Masterclass Education is seeking a cover supervisor to support secondary students in Barnsley and surrounding areas. The role runs full-time during term time, at a daily rate of £110.00–£130.00, with work locations across Barnsley and nearby schools.

Ideal candidates will have experience in similar roles, be adaptable to different environments, and possess a willingness to obtain a DBS Update Service check. Training and CPD are provided to help you develop toward a teaching career.

• Confident with a good sense of humour
• Ability to lift from pre-planned and pre-set work provided by the teacher or department

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across Year 7 to 11 in the absence of their class teacher
• Deliver pre-planned work and supervise student groups
• Support continuation of education and maintain classroom behaviour
• Grow experience toward a teaching career with training provided by schools

Barnsley secondary schools are looking to hire cover supervisor starting ASAP.

Do you have experience teaching secondary school age students? Have you previously worked as a cover supervisor?

MCE are currently looking for a resilient individual who have a passion for teaching and are wanting to develop their experience and build a career in education.

Successful applicants will be supporting the continuation of education for students' across Year 7 to 11 in the absence of their class teacher.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar setting teaching or leading groups of other individuals, as well as the ability to lift from pre-planned and pre-set work provided by the class teacher or the subject's department.

This is a fantastic opportunities for aspiring teachers to gain experience and build on their classroom presence. The schools are able to provide training to their staff, including supporting cover supervisors and unqualified teachers.

Must have:

• Experience in a similar role and environment

• A DBS on the Update Service - or willing to obtain one
• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people
• confident with a good sense of humour
