Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Cover Supervisor in Pontypool, Torfaen, South Wales. You will supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, deliver pre-planned work, manage behaviour and support pupils’ learning across a secondary setting.

The role offers £120 per day (weekly pay), with full-time or part-time supply options to fit around your availability. An Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (or willingness) are required or should be pursued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months’ experience working with children/young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence leading groups.
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain) and EWC registration (or willingness to register).

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans.
• Maintaining positive behaviour management and creating a calm, productive classroom environment.

Job Description

As a Cover Supervisor based in Pontypool, Torfaen, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning across a secondary school environment. This is a flexible opportunity suited to confident individuals who can step into the classroom, maintain a positive atmosphere, and keep students engaged with pre-planned work.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans
• Maintaining positive behaviour management and creating a calm, productive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils’ engagement and learning, including assisting learners with additional needs where required

Requirements & Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 months’ experience working with children/young people (professional, voluntary, or educational)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence leading groups
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain) and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (or willingness to register)
