We are looking for someone who will lead and direct the operational day-to-day activities within the UK, developing client relationships throughout Africa and in North and South America, and provide technical advice and input on projects.
Job Objective
- Deliver operational leadership and assume full responsibility for all relationships between the company and its clients within the UK and in regions assigned, ensuring the company sustains market share, achieves return on investments, and delivers profitable growth.
- Direct the day-to-day operational management of the UK business, applying a hands-on approach to solving strategic, technical, commercial, operational, and personnel challenges impacting customer service and performance.
- Lead delivery teams to achieve project goals, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, technically compliant, and meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Develop a high-performing, innovative operational support function capable of devising technical solutions to meet client requirements.
- Create an annual sales plan for existing and future clients, maintaining excellent client relationships built on trust and openness.
- Act as the primary communication point with clients on issues requiring the influence and authority of the Country Manager.
- Ensure daily operations align with corporate policy, strategy, and direction.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency through process, people, or practical measures to enhance business performance.
- Deliver performance management objectives, business plans, budgets, targets, and report on business factors.
- Engage in business development activities within the UK and regions, including tender management.
- Provide technical services to clients in line with targets.
- Establish and manage the UK office according to local legislation and governance.
- Manage the UK Office's finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Environmental, Scientific, Engineering, or Social Science fields.
Experience
- 10+ years in a leadership role within the environmental or resource industry.
- 4-6 years of business development experience.
Skills
- Interpersonal skills; excellent communication (verbal and written); high business acumen.
- Strong leadership capabilities; self-motivated; client-centric approach.
- Entrepreneurial and innovative thinking; adaptability.
