Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver for a busy warehouse on Slough Trading Estate. The role offers £14.00 per hour on a rotating continental shift pattern, with the potential to move to permanent employment after 12 weeks.

You will operate a counterbalance forklift, load and unload deliveries, transport goods between warehouse and production areas, and assist with stock checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance forklift licence is required.
• Experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift to move stock, pallets and materials safely around site.
• Load and unload deliveries.
• Transport products between warehouse and production areas.
• Carry out stock movements and assist with stock checks.
• Complete load inspections and ensure accurate stock handling.
• Use pallet trucks and other warehouse equipment where required.
• Support the wider warehouse team with general duties.

Temp to Perm (12 weeks)

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy warehouse and manufacturing operation based on Slough Trading Estate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for long-term work, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating continental shift pattern:

• 3 days on - 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 3 days off
• 3 nights on - 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 3 days off
• Then the cycle repeats.

This rota covers Monday to Sunday, so flexibility is essential.

The Role

As a Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you'll play a key role in keeping warehouse and production operations running efficiently. Duties will include:

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift to move stock, pallets and materials safely around site.
• Loading and unloading deliveries.
• Transporting products between warehouse and production areas.
• Carrying out stock movements and assisting with stock checks.
• Completing load inspections and ensuring accurate stock handling.
• Using pallet trucks and other warehouse equipment where required.
• Supporting the wider warehouse team with general duties.

Please note: This role involves a significant amount of walking throughout the shift, so candidates must be comfortable working in a physically active environment.

Requirements

• A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
• Previous Counterbalance Forklift experience.
• A good understanding of warehouse health & safety procedures.
• Willingness to work rotating days and nights.
• Flexibility to work overtime when required.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
