Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure in Motherwell, Scotland, UK is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to support the cost management team on a major infrastructure project. You will help capture, allocate, and report project costs and assist with purchase ledger and invoicing activities.

The role offers exposure to large-scale projects, development of commercial skills, and opportunities to work with cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate cost data and continual process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in an administrative, finance, or project support role.
• Strong diligence and the ability to work accurately with numerical data.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel to manage, analyse, and report information.
• Good organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience supporting cost control, financial administration, or project reporting.
• Knowledge of project cost management processes would be beneficial.
• GCSEs or equivalent qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cost Management team with the accurate capture and allocation of project costs.
• Assist with the collation, input, and maintenance of cost data across the project.
• Process and support purchase ledger and invoicing activities.
• Produce accurate labour, plant, and materials cost reports.
• Maintain project cost records and ensure information is entered correctly and efficiently.
• Support the preparation of cost reports and financial information for project teams and stakeholders.
• Assist with the reconciliation and validation of cost data.
• Work collaboratively with operational, commercial, and project teams to ensure cost information is up to date and accurate.
• Help identify and resolve discrepancies within financial and project cost records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to project cost management processes.
