Job summary

Confidential in the United Kingdom is seeking a Finance Assistant Cost Control to join a growing finance team. The role involves processing invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, and supporting payment processes.

You will work with the Lead Cost Controller to oversee daily finance activities, broaden your experience across cost control, subcontractor administration, and wider processes within a busy office environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable and purchase ledger processes.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
• AAT part-qualified or currently studying would be advantageous.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence with financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of cost of sales, agency and supplier invoices within set timescales.
• Perform 3-way matching between purchase orders, goods receipts and invoices.
• Manage the Accounts Department inbox and respond to supplier queries professionally.
• Conduct regular supplier statement reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with CIS and retention tracking for subcontractors and maintain documentation.
• Support weekly BACS payment runs and monthly reconciliations.
