Job summary

Autograph Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Corporate Services Manager in Exeter. You will manage a varied client portfolio, provide advisory support, and mentor junior team members within a growing accountancy practice.

The role combines technical accounting, tax planning and client relationship management in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is fully ACA/ACCA qualified with managerial experience, strong communication skills and a proactive approach to staff development.

Qualifications

• Fully ACA or ACCA qualified with Practice experience.
• Experience at manager level within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts, tax and advisory services.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deadlines.
• Experience training and developing junior staff.
• Excellent communication, organisation and workload management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and review accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.
• Manage a diverse client portfolio and meet deadlines.
• liaise with clients on accounts queries and finalise financial statements.
• Prepare and review management accounts with commentary.
• Meet with clients virtually and face-to-face.
• Undertake tax and dividend planning and provide ad hoc advice.
• Review VAT returns and tax returns, advising clients on liabilities.
• Set staff budgets and mentor junior team members.
• Manage client correspondence and queries; oversee billing and delivery.

Corporate Services Manager - Exeter

The Opportunity

A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Exeter is looking for an experienced Corporate Services Manager to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to manage a varied client portfolio, provide advisory support and play an important role in the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and review accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.

• Manage a diverse client portfolio, ensuring deadlines are met.

• Liaise with clients regarding accounts queries and finalise financial statements.

• Prepare and review management accounts, providing commentary where required.

• Meet with clients both virtually and face-to-face.

• Undertake tax and dividend planning and provide ad hoc advice.

• Review VAT returns prepared by clients or the internal bookkeeping team.

• Review personal and corporation tax returns, advising clients on their tax liabilities.

• Set staff budgets and provide mentoring and support to junior team members.

• Manage client correspondence and queries.

• Oversee client billing and ensure work is delivered efficiently.

About You

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA.

• Previous experience working at Manager level within an accountancy practice.

• Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation, tax and client advisory services.

• Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Ability to support the training and development of junior staff.

• Excellent communication, organisation and workload management skills.

• Knowledge of Sage, Xero and QuickBooks is desirable.

• Experience with Digita and CCH would be advantageous.

• Experience working with charities would be beneficial but is not essential.
