Together, we have shared values and an ethical approach towards our members, customers, and colleagues and a drive to grow the Bank's balance sheet. It is an exciting time to join the Co-operative Bank especially within the corporate sector where you will be able to make an impact on our business and our customers through working with some exciting organisations that have higher value banking requirements.

The Role:

Be an ambassador for the Co-operative Bank and all that we stand for within the corporate sectors that you are responsible for, working hand in hand with internal and external stakeholders to provide first class service to new and existing customers. Work with the team of Corporate Banking Managers to attract new corporate customers (syndicated and bilateral) across a range of sectors, including Social Housing and Income Producing Real Estate. Manage your own portfolio of customers alongside this. Become a "Trusted Adviser" and expert in your specialism.

Key Accountabilities:

* Use referral sources to identify potential larger Corporate customers that align with our ethics and lead them through the journey to becoming Co-operative Bank customers, either through taking on lending, money transmission or liability products

* Contribute to achieving or surpassing team financial targets through focussing on providing the right lending and deposit options for prospects and customers

* Forge strong links with debt and treasury advisory organisations that can assist in sharing syndicated opportunities with the Bank to create awareness of the Bank's appetite, its values and ethics, services and products of the Co-operative Bank to build a portfolio of customers

* Maintain and manage relationships with an assigned customer portfolio to ensure a high level of satisfaction with the service provided and to maximise business return, regularly reviewing progress against standards and targets for all allocated customers and completing credit and AML risk reviews as required

* Be capable of completing credit applications for lending up to c.£50m, from initial client enquiry through the various stages of gathering the required financial and organisation information, writing the credit paper, negotiating as required with credit officers, dealing with sanction conditions and moving deals through to drawdown, including through working with Agent banks.

* Fully understand and lead by example in accordance with the Bank's culture and Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite and ethical policy

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with a wide range of people

* Strong credit skills with an ability to assess a significant lending proposal (likely in excess of £15m) that may be syndicated between a number of banks

* Work well in a team setting, especially with key stakeholders such as Credit, Legal and Product

* Good decision making skills and the ability to take the lead

* Ability to manage risk in line with the Risk Management Framework

* Proactive and highly self-motivated

* Work closely with internal and external legal advisers to ensure understanding and an ability to assess and feed into legal documentation.

* Ability to identify the features and benefits of products and services your company offers
