Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Core Subjects Tutor to support children across Poole with personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science. You will deliver engaging sessions tailored to each learner's needs and monitor progress to inform next steps.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you’ll enjoy flexible hours starting in September and the chance for ongoing, long-term placements. DBS Update Service is desirable, travel within Poole may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, or related roles).
• Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science.
• Ability to deliver Engaging, personalised learning sessions.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS if needed.

Make a Difference Through Personalised Tuition

We're looking for a Core Subjects Tutor to support children and young people across Poole through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll deliver personalised support in English, Maths, and Science to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have faced barriers to education and benefit from a flexible, individualised approach that helps them rebuild confidence, improve engagement, and achieve academic progress.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with learners and see the direct impact of your support.

• Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, organised, and adaptable approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Poole area
