Job summary

En Cuisine Cooking School in London (Balham) is seeking a patient Chef Instructor to run hands-on cookery classes for children after school and during holiday camps. You will manage groups of up to 12 young chefs, guide them through step-by-step recipes, and demonstrate diverse cooking techniques while maintaining hygiene standards.

The role is part-time and self-employed, with fixed afternoon slots and opportunities to run weekend camps.

Qualifications

• Excellent kitchen experience, preferably in a restaurant.
• Fluent English communication.
• Passion for food and teaching children.
• Strong organisational skills and patience.
• DBS check required.
• First Aid (paid by En Cuisine Cooking School if needed).
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
• Two written references.
• Commitment to the role.

Cooking Teacher – Chef Instructor – SW17 7BQ

We are looking for a Chef Instructor to join our En Cuisine team based in London (Balham). We are seeking a patient and enthusiastic professional, passionate about healthy food and eager to share that knowledge with our little chefs through hands‑on cookery classes.

What you do as a Chef Instructor:

• Manage a group of 12 children for a 1‑hour cooking class, twice a week from Monday to Friday, from 2:50 pm to 4:30 pm
• Handle mise en place, tuition and cleaning
• Guide the children by explaining instructions and the step‑by‑step recipe clearly
• Demonstrate good knowledge of techniques and different cuisines
• Be creative to keep children focused and engaged during hands‑on activities
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety

What we require from you:

• Good kitchen experience, ideally within restaurants
• Fluent English
• Passion for food and teaching
• Strong organisational skills and patience
• DBS check (compulsory)
