Job summary

St George's Nursery in the United Kingdom is seeking a friendly & organised Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for young children. The role oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and efficient meal preparation in a childcare setting.

You will prepare meals, follow dietary needs, manage stock, and maintain records while contributing to healthy, varied menus and a safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Food Hygiene Level 2 or higher.
• Experience in kitchen, catering, education, or healthcare settings.

Help Create Healthy Mealtimes for Young Children

At St George's Nursery, we believe good food plays an important part in every child's day. We're looking for a friendly and organised Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the children in our care.

Hours & Pay

Part‑Time – 25 hours per week

£12.95 per hour

About The Role

You'll be responsible for preparing meals and snacks that are nutritious, varied, and suitable for the needs of young children. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and organisation are maintained.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals each day.
• Follow dietary requirements, allergies, and individual food plans.
• Monitor food supplies and report stock requirements.
• Complete kitchen records, temperature checks, and food safety documentation.

What You'll Need

• Food Hygiene qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, hospitality, education, healthcare, or similar environment.
