Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking a cook for the Longford Centre to prepare meals for residents within an on-site kitchen. You will manage daily cooking duties, ensure meals are produced to high standards, and support the team in delivering nourishing food to those in need.

The role requires a flexible, dynamic individual with a compassionate approach, and training in food safety will be provided if needed. The post is based in Manchester with a commitment to community welfare.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a meal daily for up to 45 residents.
• Handle budget purchasing of food from local vendors within the council budget.
• Based in on-site kitchen and feed those most in need in the community.
• Complete paperwork in line with food regulations, Health and Safety and COSHH.
