Job summary

Little Pioneers in Woolwich is seeking a dedicated Cook to act as the nursery’s nutrition expert, preparing and serving healthy, balanced meals for children. You’ll support families in making nutritious choices and uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance with Food Standards Agency guidelines.

The role requires an Enhanced DBS check (costs covered), Food Hygiene level 2, and experience in catering for large numbers. Flexible, supportive environment with a 4-day week option.

What will the role involve?

As our Cook, you will be the expert nutritionist for the nursery, responsible for the preparation and serving of healthy and nutritionally balanced meals. You will support the team to enable families to make healthy food choices and educate our children in the importance of balanced food choices. Working alongside our society’s policies and procedures, you will ensure compliance with the Food Standards Agency and work to the highest standards.

Who are we looking for?

• An Enhanced DBS check (we’ll cover the costs!)
• Food Hygiene level 2 or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP and COSHH requirements
