Job summary

Greensleeves Care is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team across 26 care homes in England. You will contribute to balanced menus, accommodate special diets, and support meals from preparation to service.

Role involves stocking, cooking, and collaborating with staff while maintaining strict kitchen hygiene and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering for elderly residents is preferred.
• Ability to create meals that meet special diets and dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to creating meals for menus that are balanced and suitable to special diets.
• Cater for special occasions within the home.
• Have awareness of stocks and purchases thereby allocating the quantity of materials.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals; clear and wash up with assistance from other staff.
• Ensure kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed by all staff.
• Ensure that kitchen is left clean and hygienic after each shift.

As aCook, you will:

• In conjunction with the Head Chef, contribute to creating meals for menus which incorporate choice, are balanced and which are suitable to special diets, such as low-fat,diabetic or those as a result of religious beliefs.
• Cater for special occasions within the home
• Have awareness of stocks and purchases thereby allocating the quantity of materials.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals. Clear and wash up with the assistance of other staff.
• Ensure that the kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed by all staff.
• Ensure that all kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and at the end of each shift leavethe kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
