Job summary

Greensleeves Care is seeking an experienced Care Home Cook to join our residential teams across England. You will prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene, and support residents with a varied, balanced diet in line with individual needs.

As part of a respected charity, you will work in a supportive environment with opportunities for learning and development, DBS checked, and access to employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a kitchen environment.
• Experience of serving food in a professional environment.
• Food hygiene and food preparation qualifications.
• Understanding of the importance of nutrition and diet for residents.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in managing and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals.

As a Care Home Cook, you will:

• Ensure that seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables are used whenever possible.
• Cater for special occasions within the home.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals.
• Clear and wash up after meal preparation.
• Ensure that the kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed.
• Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned after use, and at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.

To apply, you will need:

• Experience of working in a kitchen environment
• Experience of serving food in a professional environment
• Relevant food hygiene and food preparation qualifications
• An understanding of the importance of food for residents, including a balanced and varied diet
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in managing and supervising staff
