Job summary

Greensleeves Care is seeking a dedicated Care Home Cook to join our team in Sevenoaks. You will prepare and serve meals, using seasonal produce and ensuring high kitchen hygiene and safety standards for our residents.

You will work in a supportive team, with opportunities for training and development, and be part of a respected charity that values resident well-being and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen environment
• Experience serving food in a professional environment
• Relevant food hygiene and food preparation qualifications
• Understanding the importance of food for residents, including balanced diets
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in managing and supervising staff

Responsibilities

• Use seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables when possible
• Cater for special occasions within the home
• Prepare, cook and serve meals
• Clear and wash up after meal preparation
• Observe kitchen hygiene and safety rules
• Keep the kitchen clean and hygienic at end of each shift

As a Care HomeCook, you will:

• Ensure that seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables are used whenever possible.
• Cater for special occasions within the home.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals.
• Clear and wash up after meal preparation.
• Ensure that the kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed.
• Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned after use, and at the end of each shift, leave the kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.

• Experience of working in a kitchen environment
