Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a full-time Cook at our Bulford site in Wiltshire for a 40-hour week in a busy kitchen serving military personnel. You will prepare and present meals to high standards and work within a friendly catering team.

You’ll follow food safety and health & safety guidelines, contribute to a reliable dining service, and have opportunities to develop your cooking skills in a large organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook in a catering, hospitality, or food service setting.
• Culinary experience and passion for high-quality meals.
• Food safety and health & safety awareness; IOSH qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve fresh, high-quality meals in a busy kitchen.
• Ensure presentation, quality and consistency of every dish.
• Follow hygiene, food safety and health & safety standards (EHO) and maintain standards.
• Work as part of a friendly catering team to deliver efficient service.
• Prepare meals for military personnel to provide a reliable dining experience.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized for service.
• Support events and functions to showcase cooking skills.
• Take responsibility for bulk cooking while maintaining high standards.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, high-quality meals within a busy kitchen environment


• Take pride in the presentation, quality and consistency of every meal you prepare


• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards in line with EHO requirements


• Work as part of a friendly and professional catering team to deliver an efficient service


• Prepare meals for military personnel, ensuring a consistent and enjoyable dining experience


• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service


• Support events and special functions, giving you the opportunity to showcase your cooking skills


• Take responsibility for bulk cooking while maintaining high standards across all dishes

What you bring:

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment


• Culinary experience and a genuine passion for preparing good-quality food


• Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery are desirable


• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (IOSH qualification desirable)


• The ability to work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team while maintaining high standards


• A positive attitude, good attention to detail and pride in your work


• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
