Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook / Chef at Larkhill Garrison, Wiltshire. You will join a dedicated team in a MOD setting, preparing meals and supporting functions in a busy kitchen.

Typical shifts are 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7, with early, late, and weekend cover. A strong food-safety focus and culinary excellence are essential to deliver high-quality meals daily.

Qualifications

• Professional chef experience in catering or hospitality.
• Recognised culinary qualifications (City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking and service of meals in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and comply with EHO guidelines.
• Work with front-of-house to deliver excellent service to diners.
• Cook and serve meals to military personnel with consistent quality.
• Oversee sanitation and implement best practices in the kitchen.
• Participate in high-profile events and bulk cooking for large functions.
• Ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.

What we’re looking for:

• Ability to work in a high-pressure, team-focused environment
• A passion for cooking and delivering top-quality service

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working in military or government catering
• IOSH qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
