Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Chef to join one of our Ministry of Defence sites in Wendover, UK. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for a busy site and work with a supportive kitchen team.

Shifts are rotating (05:00–13:30 and 11:00–19:30), 40 hours per week, with benefits including free onsite parking, discounted gym membership, subsidised meals, and staff discounts. A positive attitude and basic IT skills are valued.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering is desirable.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using everyday computer systems.
• Experience with menu preparation and bulk cooking.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Continuously resident in the UK for the last 3 years due to security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of the kitchen, including food preparation, service and general kitchen duties.
• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and EHO guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant kitchen.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver friendly, efficient and excellent service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring all kitchen sanitation procedures are followed.
• Help keep the kitchen organised, efficient and running smoothly throughout service.

• Experience of bulk cooking and preparing food for larger numbers.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn, develop and build your skills.
• Due to security requirements, you must have been continuously resident in the UK for the last 3 years to be eligible for this position.
