Job summary

Manpower in Llandough, CF64 is recruiting an experienced Cook to prepare and cook quality food while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and customer service standards.

Duties include following recipes, controlling portions, monitoring temperatures and helping with stock. A minimum of 2 years catering/cooking experience and a valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate are required (Manpower can support obtaining the certificate).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years catering/cooking experience.
• Proven customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present hot and cold food items to agreed standards.
• Ensure food quality, presentation and portion control requirements are met.
• Support daily food production to meet service requirements.
• Follow recipes, production schedules and food safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within preparation areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and complete required food safety records.
• Assist with stock rotation and safe storage of deliveries.
• Adhere to Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and Infection Prevention procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient catering service.

Contract: Temporary, duration unknown

Pay Rates

• £13.45 per hour (Weekdays)
• £17.91 per hour (Saturdays)
• £23.24 per hour (Sundays & Bank Holidays)

Working Pattern

• 5 days out of 7
• Shifts between 6:00am and 8:00pm

The Role

We are recruiting an experienced Cook on behalf of our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality food while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and customer service standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a range of hot and cold food items to agreed standards.
• Ensure food quality, presentation and portion control requirements are consistently met.
• Support daily food production to meet service requirements.
• Follow recipes, production schedules and food safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within food preparation areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and complete required food safety records.
• Assist with stock rotation, stock control and the safe storage of deliveries.
• Adhere to Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and Infection Prevention procedures at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient catering service.
• Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Manpower can support with this)
• A minimum of 2 years catering/cooking experience.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
