Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is recruiting an experienced Cook on a temporary basis at a location in Llandough. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality food while upholding food safety, hygiene and customer service standards.

The role requires a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate, at least 2 years catering experience, and flexibility with shifts across 6:00am–8:00pm. Pay rates vary by weekday, Saturday and Sundays/Bank Holidays, with uniform provided and weekly PAYE pay.

• Good communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present hot and cold dishes to agreed standards.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Support daily food production to meet service requirements.
• Follow recipes, production schedules and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in food prep areas.
• Monitor temperatures and complete safety records.
• Assist with stock rotation and safe storage of deliveries.

Pay Rates

• £13.45 per hour (Weekdays)
• £17.91 per hour (Saturdays)
• £23.24 per hour (Sundays & Bank Holidays)

Working Pattern

• 5 days out of 7
• Shifts between 6:00am and 8:00pm
• Various contract hours available:
  • 16 hours per week
  • 24 hours per week
  • 30 hours per week
  • 37.5 hours per week

The Role

We are recruiting an experienced Cook on behalf of our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality food while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and customer service standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a range of hot and cold food items to agreed standards.
• Ensure food quality, presentation and portion control requirements are consistently met.
• Support daily food production to meet service requirements.
• Follow recipes, production schedules and food safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within food preparation areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and complete required food safety records.
• Assist with stock rotation, stock control and the safe storage of deliveries.
• Adhere to Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and Infection Prevention procedures at all times.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an efficient catering service.

Essential Requirements
